Sometimes it's not actually what they say, but what it sounds like they are saying.
My mom came to pick up Daven yesterday afternoon. It had been something like two weeks since they had spent any time together and Daven was so excited that he was finally going to see nana! When she got here, Adam was playing a video game and Daven was pretending to shoot bad guys. Someone made the Star Wars shooting gun sound effect - pew pew pew! Daven then decided that he needed a pew gun. Only that's not what it sounded like he said.
"Nana, we need to go to target and get me a puke gun. Please? Pretty please?"
I don't know how many times he said it, although it was a lot because we all laughed every time. My mom found some old Nerf guns in the basement that seemed to satisfy him last night. But according to dad, he's already asking to take a trip to Target this morning. Probably wants a puke gun still.
